Features of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 Winter Tires

The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 features an asymmetric tread design. The outside shoulder of the tire has independent shoulder blocks and a 3D siping design for better stability and handling during cornering. Two wide circumferential channels and angled grooves disperse water and slush from under the tread and help to reduce hydroplaning. The inner shoulder of the tire features an open tread pattern to improve acceleration and control. The addition of Michelin developed StabiliGrip sipe technology provides this tire with a 10% improvement in acceleration over its predecessor. The full Silica based tread includes Helio Compound, which is a sunflower oil additive that keeps the tread flexible at lower temperatures so road grip is maintained. Through the combination of these two technologies, the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 can stop up to 5% shorter than its predecessors. The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winter tires have been approved by the high standards of Porsche SE for use in their vehicles. It is offered in V and W speed ratings and is available in 18, 19 and 20 inch rim sizes.
